“We, Afghanistan and Iraq veterans from around the country will converge in Chicago on May 20 to ceremoniously return our medals to NATO generals,” according to the blog. “We were awarded these medals for serving in the Global War on Terror, a war based on lies and failed policies. This endless war has killed hundreds of thousands, stripped the humanity of all involved, and drained our communities of trillions of dollars, diverting funds from schools, clinics, libraries, and other public goods.”

26 life-size figures. Depth 5m. Grenada, West Indies.
This EPIC underwater sculpture collection of life size figures memorializes those enslaved Africans who jumped or were thrown overboard during the Middle Passage. In addition to being an incredible artistic statement, the piece serves a functional purpose: as a coral reef.

”The audience was at first puzzled to see the narrative lead by an American man – Jason Russell – and his young son. Towards the end of the film, the mood turned more to anger at what many people saw as a foreign, inaccurate account that belittled and commercialised their suffering, as the film promotes Kony bracelets and other fundraising merchandise, with the aim of making Kony infamous.”
Gotta love those “allies.”
CAN YOU SEE ME?
Kawther (age 3) is crying because she wants to go home. Her family hid in a bomb shelter for three days following the 12 July, 2006 outbreak of hostilities with Israel. They are now camping in a school in Beirut, while bombings continue in southern parts of the city and the country. By the 14 August ceasefire, 1,187 Lebanese had been killed and 4,000 injured, and over 1 million were displaced or trying to flee the country.

Yeah I cut my two little cousins out of my life when they moved back to Israel and joined the military. One of them works in a fucking artillery battery. She might have very well been the one who destroyed this little girl’s home… disgusting.
